Cougar

“We’re in a hotel. We’re always in a hotel. And each room is exactly the same as the last room. And the one before that, and the one before that …”

Leila is a ruthless corporate climate change activist, with drive and ambition. John is a waste of space bartender who has no idea what he’s doing with his life. After an incident in a hotel bar, the two are unexpectedly brought together and they make an exciting arrangement – but are they on the same page? And can they get what they need from one another before the world ends?

In a series of short episodic scenes that take place in hotels around the globe, Rose Lewenstein’s COUGAR explores the relationship between an older woman and a younger man as the world around them fractures and disintegrates. It’s a play about love, lust, hypocrisy, pride and what might happen if we fail to care about the people and things we love.

Now touring the Midlands after their success in Portsmouth and their sold-out run in London, Mary Rose Productions bring Cougar to our stage!
