I'm Glad I Asked

This funny and tender one woman show was drawn from workshops with women that asked “What would you like to ask or have asked your mother?”. It reflects Michele’s own lived experiences with her 91-year-old Mother, Gena (represented by a life-sized puppet) and the impact that her mother’s dementia had on both of their lives.

Through a truly personal and generous piece of storytelling theatre, Michele O’Brien explores the joys, heartaches, shared memories, love and conflict that binds generations together to convey a universal tale for all to enjoy. We often hear people say, “If only I asked!” when a parent is no longer with us and Michele was determined to take the many opportunities she had to share with her mother, to change that.
